Sabrina Carpenter‘s new song “Manchild” has launched speculation about who the song could possibly be about and she is already speaking out to reveal the real inspiration.
While some fans might assume the song is about Sabrina‘s ex-boyfriend Barry Keoghan, we have already pointed out reasons why it’s clearly not about him.
Now, Sabrina is talking about the true meaning behind the song.

“This song became to me something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life,” Sabrina said in an Instagram note, revealing that the song is about the relationships from her younger years.
She continued, “it sounds like the song embodiment of a loving eye roll and it feels like a never ending road trip in the summer ! hence why i wanted to give it to you now- so you can stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long! thank you always and forever for listening and thank you men for testing me!”
Sabrina wrote the song shortly after finishing her album Short ‘n Sweet.
